Welcome to the Allen Park / Melvindale CERT website

Synopsis

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, educates people about disaster prepardness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team orginization and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during excercises CERT can assist others in their neighborhood - workplace or surrounding communities when professional responders are not immediately available. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects and community assistance in their communities.

CERT Mission Statement

Our Mission is to serve and safeguard our citizens and surrounding communities through a professional, efficient and effective system of volunteer services, which protect life, environment and property

CERT Vision

Our Vision is to support first responders with trained volunteers that organize themselves at the disaster site and provide immediate assistance to victims. We are committed to provide the best public service through education training and volunteering.

Allen Park / Melvindale Leadearship

 

The Allen Park / Melvindale Community Emergency Response Team (APM Cert), is sponsored by the Allen Park and Melvindale Police Departments, and receives medical and public safety training from experienced personnel in the fields of: public safety, medical, and hazardous materials.

Monthly member meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Unless otherwise notified. Please see our calendar page for more information.
